QUALIFYING RULES

All-Star Qualifying (May 13th)

If you advanced to the Winston from the Winston Open, you will be starting in the order you finished BEHIND the drivers that are in the Winston.  You will not participate in this session, but you may watch.

When practice starts, no one will go on the track. Car numbers will be called randomly. You will drive to the end of pit road, front bumper on line that marks exit of pit road. When told "GO", you will proceed onto the track to qualify. There will be no flagmen operating so read this carefully.  Your time will start when you get to S/F line, you will pit rather than staying on the track for another lap. There will be no one on pit road and no speed limit. You pit for 2 RIGHT SIDE tires and exit the pits. When you cross the S/F line your run will be complete. Please exit the track quickly after your run is complete so the process may proceed quickly.

Your lap times will be added together to get your lap time. The following will cause a DQ and you will be forced to start at the rear:

Getting any tires in the grass at any time.

Any obvious tire squealing or burnouts BEFORE your timed laps begin.

Chatting while another driver is on the track making a qualifying run.

The All-Star Challenge (May 20th)

                                         Segment 1

The qualifying results from May 13th is how we will line up for the start of segment 1, so you will drive a stated speed in qualifying.  For example, it will be like this, #03 155, #895 150, #70 145, etc.  Make sure you can see your speedometer (Press the S key). You must drive your set speed all the way around the track for both laps. This will set the field according to the previous weeks qualifying results.

 Segment 2      TOP 14 from 1

After the inversion number is told, I will specify a speed for you to drive during your qualifying laps. For example, it will be like this, #03 155, #895 150, #70 145, etc.  Make sure you can see your speedometer (Press the S key). You must drive your set speed all the way around the track for both laps. This will invert the field properly and make the event as realistic as possible.

                                Segment 3

The starting field for this segment will be by the same procedure for segment 1 and 2 with the EXCEPTION of inverting the field. Drivers will be assigned a set speed to drive so the field will be set by finishing order of segment 2.
