2004 Challenger Daytona 250

Length: 100 laps

Date: Feb 12th, 2004

Track opens at 8:15pm EST

Notes:  Daytona has 31 degree banked turns.  The track looks wide enough for three or four wide racing, but the bumps in the corners usually prevent that from happening very often.  The Start/Finish line is in the middle of the tri-oval.  Teams have been testing all winter hoping to start the season off on a good note.

Recap from BUD Shootout at Daytona

Jeremy Wiedeman and Mike Palmer grab the top two spots in qualifying.  20 cars started the event and made the race very memorable for all.

The late race battle for the lead saw 6 cars in the lead pack.  Bison leads with bean close behind.

Horace Brooks was having a good day until things went upside down.  Despite what it seems, Wiedeman and Reed DO have 4 tires on the pavement.

Bean made a run to the outside with help from Reed and Plowman.  However, the high line momentum could not carry them ahead.

Bison held off the outside charge and took win.  On his way to Victory Lane, he did numerous burnouts in the infield.
