Length: 250 laps

Track
opens at 8:15pm EST
Notes: Martinsville is as close to your local short track as you can
see in NASCAR. This track with 12 degrees of banking has hosted
races since 1956. The bottom is by far the preferred groove, but
there has been some good door to door racing in STRL at this track over
the years. Brakes are very important, so bring the best you got and
don't expect to have any left.

Jeremy Wiedeman and Sam McAllister led the field to the
green flag. After close times in qualifying and the Happy Hour
sessions, the race had the making for a highly competitive event. |
|
Horace Brooks, shown
moving under McAllister, started 6th and made a strong march forward
on the first long green flag run of the day which included a green
flag stop. Behind them, Glover and Seela were trying to follow
Brooks to the front. |
 |
 |
Robby Gage had a Top 5 run going until trouble struck
just past the start/finish line. Ryan Rovasio makes contact as
Jeff Christianson went low. |
|
Ken Leschin ran
strong most of the day, but fell back to 9th late in the event.
Leschin is shown making his final green flag stop. |
 |
 |
Despite leading 152
of 167 laps, 7 drivers swapped the lead 11 times. Wiedeman had
strong competition from Brooks throughout the event. With
only 2 cautions in the race, the field got spread out and Seela
finished third, was one lap down. |
