Phoenix, Az. – Keith Mclain clinched his second STRL Championship by dominating the race at Phoenix. Mclain led 76 of the 141 laps and most of those were after the half way point of the race. Mclain started on the pole and led early losing the lead during the first yellow flag when he opted to pit for fresh Goodyear’s. Jeremy Weideman took over the lead and seemed to have a car that could challenge Mclain. Weideman’s night went south when he was caught in the pits when a yellow flag came out during green flag pitstops. That basically sealed the deal for Mclain who would lead the rest of the race and never be challenged again. Horace Brooks who came into the race week in second place could not attend the event as his father was hurt in an accident. The entire league sends our well wishes the Brooks family and hope for a speedy recovery for the Horace’s father. The league heads south to Miami-Homestead next week for the last race of the season.
