Homestead-Miami, Fl. – Jeremy Weideman finished out the season in style by taking the win at the season’s final race in Homestead-Miami Florida. Weideman used pit strategy to get the lead then rolled the dice on a late race caution and stayed out on old tires as the rest of the field came and got fresh rubber. Weideman was able to hold off the field to get the win. Jeff Sykes won the pole with a lap of 28.434 but was involved in a crash with 2 laps remaining in the race. Sykes had one of the strongest cars in field as he led the most laps with a total of 43. Danny Sanchez may have had the car to beat but was also involved in the same crash as Sykes when Sanchez and Weideman touched getting into turn 1. The 2009 overall and Chase Champion keith Mclain had a bad day crashing out early in the race when he and Horace Brooks made contact on the front stretch. Reigning Champion Brooks had a good car but faded late after making contact with the wall. The league finished the season in style as the drivers showed great spirit and adillity in the last race. The race had only 4 cautions for 12 laps.
Following Weideman across the finish line was Greg Foslien in 2nd, Patrick McDaniel in 3rd, David gibson in 4th, and David Preston in 5th.The league takes a break before winter testing begins. Be sure to check often for signups to open for the 2009 season.
